Shiny satin on one side, matte crepe on the other. This fabric is similar to a 16 momme mid-weight satin Charmeuse. There is a subtile surface texture created by the longer "floats" of this satin, compressed by the crepe back. And the drape has slightly more bias give than does Charmeuse.

Recommended care: Machine wash: Gentle cycle, warm water, mild soap (hand dishwashing soap like Crystal White or Ivory). Never use bleach or harsh detergents on silk.
Tumble dry on low heat. Remove from dryer as soon as dry. For smoothest finish, iron from barely damp state on "wrong" side of fabric.
Alternate care: Hand wash, line dry and iron smooth. Or Dry Clean.
